August 8th, 2013 Meeting Minutes

The Meeting was held at the home of Rhonda Laur

Toured Gardens at 6:00 pm

Welcome/Introduced Visitors and Refreshments at 7:00 pm

The meeting was called to order at 7:40 pm

Hopefully everyone received the plant “Sacramento” from the club. Thank you again to Cathy & Mick Hodgson and Gene Arms. Sorry if you didn’t receive one, they have all been passed out or bought by club members.

Approval of Minutes: No corrections to the minutes, motion to accept minutes by Becky Hanner, second by Steve Balabon. The membership voted to accept the minutes.

Treasurer’s Report:  No treasure report was available at this meeting. Glen will let membership know in September newsletter.

Hosta Stones:  Cathy has had a request for 1 stone, but has not received payment as of yet.

Nominations for Vice President:  No nominations were presented to the membership. Glen Pace has asked the membership to think about volunteering for the position.

501c3: It is official the club has received its 501c3 status.  Glen asked membership to think about what they would like to give the attorney as a gift since he did not charge the club a fee. Discussion will be at end of meeting.

Next Meeting:  September 12^th at 5:00 pm instead of regular starting time of 6:00 pm.  This is our plant exchange meeting. It will be held at the Hanner’s home.  Drawing for plants will be according to the member’s attendance and we will be doing a $5.00 table as per the membership’s vote on 12/06/2012.   Glen Pace, Barb Hunter, Dyane Moore, and Gene Arms were the only ones that attended every meeting. Congrats to you!!

October’s meeting will be at the Mayfield Twp. Hall on the 10^th of October.  Guest speaker Joseph Tychonievich of Arrowhead Alpines will be our speaker.  This meeting is open to anyone. No dinner will be served, just cookies, coffee, and drinks.

Drawing:  Raffle drawing netted $101. Thank you to Glen Pace, Teresa Dillon, Gene Arms, Dyane Moore, Lou Balance and Marlene Daniels for donating items for door prizes and raffle.

After discussion, a motion was presented by Barb Hunter to give the attorney a $250 gift card. It was seconded by Jan Zawisa. Membership voted to accept the motion.  Barb Hunter will get the gift card to Glen Pace.

Name Badge Committee- Dyane Moore, Cathy Myers, Wanda Sizemore, Betty Stange, and Helen Wischmeyer have volunteered to form a committee to look into getting name badges made.  Our previous badge maker has gone out of business.  The committee will report their findings to the Board.
