August 08, 2019 Meeting Minutes

The Meeting – was held at the home of Nancy and Marvin Martilla 

Networking – 5:00 PM, set up refreshments, sign in and stroll through the
Martillas’ gardens.

Potluck – the meeting was called to order by President Glen Pace at 6:00 PM
Glen thanked the Martillas’ for opening their home and gardens for all to enjoy.
Visitors were introduced and a wonderful potluck was enjoyed by all.

Approval of Minutes – There were no corrections to July 11, 2019 meeting minutes.  Becky Hanner made a motion to accept July’s meeting minutes and it was seconded by Robin Bratton. The membership voted to accept July’s 2019 meeting minutes.

 

Treasurer’s Report – Barb Hunter, treasurer gave a report for July 2019, beginning balance was $XXX.xx, an income of $XX.xx and expenditures were $XX.xx leaving the club with an ending balance of $XXX.xx.  A motion was made by Becky Hanner to accept the treasurer’s report and seconded by Dyane Moore. Membership voted to accept the July 2019 treasurer’s report.

Annual plant sale – Kathy Hodgson thanked the membership for supporting our club by purchasing plants from the sale. There are 12 Prairie Sky left at $3.00 each, 16 WuLaLa and 4 Wiggles and Squiggles left at $10.00 each.

Calendar of Events – our next meeting is September 12 and it is our annual plant exchange. It will be held at Suncrest’s Pavilion in Lapeer.
October 10 – Chris & Connie Green at Mayfield Twp. Hall Lapeer

November 14 – Board Meeting at Whitey’s in Davison
December 12 – Annual Christmas Party, Mayfield Twp. Hall Lapeer

Name badges – Sign sheet if you need one. First one is free and replacements are $2.00 each. Please save the magnet from the back of a ruined badge to save cost.

Other Announcements - John Gavit announced that there would be a garden clean up at Hidden Lake on August 18. Glen Pace, the president explained how the plant exchange works for all of our new members.

Adjourn – Bruce Pollard made a motion to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 6:58 PM.
